Brewmance Episode 3: Sharing is Caring

Well, last month’s Brewmance wasn’t a home run, but this month, we’ve got Iain McOustra from Amsterdam Brewing Co. and a big old jug of Brettanomyces Bruxellensis.  Indeed, we’re going with a 100% brett pale ale, and a huge shot of fruity hops to finish it.  Full video below, and recipe (sort of) there after.

Sharing is Caring 100% Brett Pale Ale

For a 5 gallon batch

2.5kg 2-Row (we actually used a Maris blend)
2.5kg Vienna Malt
6g Columbus Hops
2oz Mosaic Hops
2oz Galaxy Hops
1 tablet Whirlfloc
Brettanomyces Brux

Mash at 65C for 1 hour. Boil 60 minutes. 60 minute hop addition: 6g Columbus. 5 minute hop addition 1oz Galaxy 1oz Mosaic. Flame out hop addition 1oz Galaxy 1oz Mosaic. 10 minute whirlpool, 10 minute rest. Cool to 21C and pitch yeast. Ferment at 23C.
