Top Chefs Turn up the Heat at Toronto’s Festival of Beer

TORONTO, Ont. (July 18, 2014) – The 2014 Toronto’s Festival of Beer is turning up the heat with its celebrity chefs at this year’s Beerlicious Grilling Experience.

The creative minds behind some of the trendiest restaurants in the Toronto area will be grilling unique and delicious fare to match the wide variety of beer that will be on offer from July 25-27 at Bandshell Park, Exhibition Place.

“Our celebrity chefs are masters of the grill,” said Les Murray, President of Toronto’s Festival of Beer. “Their expertise and skill is unquestionable. This is a great opportunity for people to learn some great grilling tips while discovering how to pair gourmet food with good beer.”

Sponsored by Traeger Grills, Labatt and hosted by grilling guru Chef Ted Reader, some of the celebrity chefs scheduled to appear in the Grilling Tent include:

  • Abbey Sharp (Abbey’s Kitchen)

  • Chef Matt Basile (Fidel Gastro / Lisa Marie)
  • Chef Matt Dean Pettit (Rock Lobster Food Co.)

These chefs will be grilling up mouth-watering combinations such as bangers and mash paired with refreshing Leffe Blonde as well as marinated steak with tomato and arugula bruschetta. All beer pairings have been carefully selected by founder of Prud’homme Beer Certification, Roger Mittag, a specialist in the food and beer pairing craft. The grill is hot and the beer is cold so be sure to drop by the Beerlicious Grilling tent at Toronto’s Festival of Beer!
