In the business of the past weekend with Toronto’s Festival of Beer as well as Ben’s birthday, I got an email inviting me to Molson Coors hosted party. It’s an opportunity for young professionals to get together, do some networking, eat some food and drink beers paired with the food under the direction of a cicerone. Sure, I’m betting I’ll get some Molson M or Sublime or something, but I’m also hopeful they will take the chance to introduce people to Creemore and Graville Island; even that new Rickard’s Blonde is tasty enough. Sure, you can tell your Merlot from your Chardonnay and your Pinot Noir from your Cabernet Sauvignon, (or maybe you can’t…) but how well do you know your beer? This August, we are bringing in 1 out of the only 3 certified Beer Cicerones in Ontario to tell you the difference.
So snack on savoury eats, sip on refreshing beer and loosen a button or two as our beer cicerone teaches you all there is to know about appreciating and pairing beer. From ales, pilsner and even stout, you’ll never eat shrimp with the wrong beer again. You’ll never have to settle for less-than-perfect pairings again.
