Beau’s All Natural Wild Oat Series – Matt’s Sleepy Time Stout

Just in from the good folks at Beau’s:

Beau's All Natural Brewing Co.“Matt’s Sleepy Time Belgian Imperial Stout” back (for a limited time only!)

OTTAWA — (Mar. 15, 2011)  Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co. will mark the Irish holiday this year with the release of a strong, dark beer just perfect for spring. Called Matt’s Sleepy Time Belgian Imperial Stout, this beer was first brought out more than a year ago, and is back by popular demand for a 2011 edition. Again, only 1,000 bottles of this delicious brew will be available for sale from the brewery.

Sleepy Time is an Imperial Stout (8% abv) that has been fermented with Belgian yeast and aged on oak staves. Tastes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla are complemented with American hops and a true Belgian character in the finish.

“As true beer fanatics know, there are many challenging styles of beer, which have the capability of literally changing how you think and feel about this wonderful beverage,” says co-founder Steve Beauchesne. “Beau’s is dedicated to exploring these bold flavours and exciting aromas through our Wild Oats series — Sleepy Time was the beer that inspired the series, so we’re super-excited to have it back.”

Beauchesne notes that the return may be short-lived, though, as most Wild Oats beers are brewed in single small batches, which is why only 1,000 bottles can be produced. “Our first Wild Oats beer of 2011, BogFather, sold out in two weeks, and we were just floored,” says Beauchesne. “Then we released the second Wild Oats, WinterBrewed, and it went in about 10 days. So now we’re telling people, if you want some you’d better get out here early, because each beer seems to generate more and more excitement.”

SATURDAY MARCH 19, Beau’s will be celebrating the return of Matt’s Sleepy Time Stout (and a late St. Patrick’s Day too!) with an OPEN HOUSE AFTERNOON at the brewery. Live Celtic music will fuel the celebration, and the event will also feature ongoing brewery tours throughout the day, food, and themed activities for children to enjoy while adults sip and enjoy the entertainment.

The 1000 individually numbered 600 ml bottles of the 8% Imperial Stout will be available for purchase at the brewery retail store starting Thursday March 17 at 10 am, at a retail price of $7.85.
