Amsterdam Brewing Company Summer Seasonal – Oranje Weisse Premium White Beer Available Now in All Major Distribution Chains
(Toronto, ON, May 12, 2011) – Following on the hot heels of its Spring Seasonal brew – Spring Bock, The Amsterdam Brewing Company, Toronto’s independently owned and operated craft brewer, released their Summer Seasonal – Oranje Weisse earlier this month. Being featured in both the LCBO and The Beer Store as well as on premise and at the Amsterdam Brewery Retail Store, Oranje Weisse will be Amsterdam’s most widely available seasonal beer in the history of the Brewery.
“We knew we had to follow up on our Spring Bock with another solid seasonal release for the hot summer months in Toronto” says Amsterdam Brewmaster Jamie Mistry. “Oranje Weisse is a wonderfully refreshing beer – one that a person could drink all summer long. The reaction to last years Oranje Weisse was so good we’ve decided to quadruple production this year in order to meet demand. To have this beer so widely available is also great for us as a brewery and something we’re really excited about. ” The 2011 batch of Oranje Weisse was recently awarded a Gold Medal at the Ontario Brewing Awards which were held on May 10.
As an ode to Amsterdam’s Dutch heritage, Oranje Weisse is a premium, unfiltered white beer. Predominantly brewed with un-malted wheat, which gives it a hazy appearance, the Brewery has also added two types of orange peel and some coriander resulting in a unique flavour combination of citrus and light spice.
The release of Oranje Weisse and the Ontario Brewing Awards Gold Medal win will be celebrated at an Amsterdam Brewery Open House on Saturday May 21 during a special summer tasting session from 12 – 3 pm. All are welcome for food and drink.
